MILTON BAND 2013-2014 REGISTRATION SESSION
As was announced in the informational packet that went home with your student earlier this semester, registration for the 2013-2014 Milton High School Band Program will take place next Tuesday, May 14th from 4:30-9PM in the Milton High School Band Room. At this time all students who have enrolled in a band class must have a parent formally register them with the Milton Band Boosters. All paperwork, including registration, student/parent information, and medical forms will be completed and 40% of total registration fees should be paid during this time, as was discussed at the informational meeting last month. Forms are available online under the FORMS menu, but please also bring your insurance card or a copy. Simply stop in at any point after 4:30 to go through the registration line and enroll your son or daughter in the band program for the upcoming school year. This is for all members of the concert band, symphonic band and wind ensemble in addition to those students participating in the marching band this year.
Students who are participating in this year’s marching band and colorguard will be formally registered for marching band and band camp in this registration session. Students who are not represented will not have a spot reserved for them in this year’s marching band or in this year’s show, so it is essential that all participating members are signed up at this meeting. While registration is taking place, all incoming and veteran marching band brass and woodwind members will rehearse music inside with Mr. Shumick from 4:30-6. Having already completed their auditions, percussion and colorguard members do not need to attend this rehearsal, it is for new and returning marching brass and woodwind musicians. Students not at this rehearsal will not have a spot reserved for them in this year’s group or in this year’s show, so it is essential that all prospective members of this year’s group attend this rehearsal and are registered at the same time by a parent. During this rehearsal, all school-owned marching band instruments will be signed out for summer practice, in addition to marching band music being sent home with students for summer practice.
